Love-the eternal saviour of the universe-

It is said that love conquers everything; that love is quintessential to every living being, his aspirations, the driving force that leads his creativity, and ultimate Nirvana.

Looking back to life which began nearly 3.5 billion years ago on this planet it has tried to thrive withstanding severe roadblocks that came on the way. Life itself loved itself which led to life’s sustenance. The Bible says that God used the breath of life to animate the first humans.

The life that began from cell division took different paths, weathering innumerable challenges that came in its way and it was all  possible as love took centrestage and wrapped life in its warm comforts. There possibly is no dichotomy as life and love became complimentary. The humans evolved as homo sapiens after passing through many phases. The journey though tumultuous was possible as love nourished and thereby sustained it. No research could reveal whether homo sapiens  would evolve further.

Humans are born of mother who is epitome of love. A mother who is herself a product of love finds it inseparable from her life and infact finds it endearing to wrap her offsprings with the warmth of love. As one grows older he/she finds love in everything which develops  the inherent art embedded in his/her being into passion. Love does not discriminate; it is effusing in its eternity and never engages into a narrow path. History is replete with examples how even a King, a samrat or a sultan had fallen in love of his subject who was low in the eyes of then society.  Love till day remains the only guiding force which sustains life and thereby the earth and universe. It is said love is blind as it fails to decide between good or bad. The adage itself suffers from inconsistency as love sees only good and so the lover. For it nothing appears bad. That is why Krishna fell into love with Radharani who was completely immersed in bhakti for the Lord so much so love got mingled in bhakti and vice-versa. Thus, neither had any desire left to marry and thereby unite. Only pure love had that indefatigable force which teaches one to renunciate desire of anything mundane or material. True love culminates into sacrifice and never tries to bind itself into shackles of desire or expression. Love in reality can go grow in ether and doesn’t need any medium of expression as modern world would like to interpret.

In Greek mythology Eros was god of love while Cupid was in Roman. Here love tries to manifest itself in expression through lust which is in total contrast to love preached by Meerabai, the 16th century Hindu poet who too was passionately in love with Lord Krishna. Her creations called bhajans are all effusing in praise of the Lord. Meerabai, through her creations elevated love to its spiritual height where it became free from bondage and other methods of expression. No wonder both Radharani and Meerabai hold place sacrosanct in minds of millions in india.

A world of today where hatred is the order of the day can have its saviour through love. Succinct it to say, let all discriminations in name of religion, the divides in name of caste, creed or even color of skin will fall at the alter of love itself. Let human race survive through that only alternative.
