A Glorious Tribute to Lt Nikita Dhaundiyal

While this country is proud witness to thousands of men joining the defence forces after someone near lost his life fighting enemies, It is not common to see spouse of the slain take up the cudgel soon after losing her partner..not only Madam Nikita Dhoundiyal, wife of slain Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, decided to join the Army herself soon after losing her husband she also pledged  her entire life in service of Army. To achieve her goals she not only had to burn midnight oil studying hard for the Short Service examination but also undergo the gruelling training and overcome other obstacles.


I am shorn of words as to how tributes can be paid to such valour and courage shown by Ms Nikita. All i can say that a country which has produced a daughter like her cannot be trampled. 


History is replete with examples

that only a Jijabai can produce a warrior like Shivaji; a Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi who fought the first war of independence against the mighty British in 1857. That Madam Nikita Dhoundiyal has drawn her inspiration from these brave women is beyond any shadow of doubt.


Let us all draw inspiration from the example set by Lt Nikita Dhoundiyal  -an example to swallow pain, withstand the agony, undergo the rigours of otherwise color less life and sacrifice one's self for the glory of the motherland. Let these life-stories be part of our school curricula so as to ignite little minds who on growing up would also dedicate their lives for cause of this wonderful nation.

  Seven major rivers-Indus, Brahmaputra, Narmada, Tapi, Godavari, Krishna and Mahanadi and their numerous tributaries flow through India. All rivers, as we know originate from mountain tops and culminate into seas. No wonder India is considered a country of rivers. The rivers are the main source of sweet water used for human consumption. Since times immemorial the water of rivers and their numerous tributaries have been quenching thirst of the habitat and also irrigate the land for cultivation. India is indeed blessed to have this natural sources of sweet and potable water. A consistent monsoon pattern help maintain the water levels especially for the major rivers. Ramakrishna-the great sage...

  Today is 134th death anniversary ( mahaprayan divas)Thakur Ramakrishna Paramhans. He was born at Kamarpukur but died at Cossipore Calcutta ( Kolkata). People around world know Ramakrishna as the one who mentored the Great Swami. But many consider him God. Ramakrishna often would go into deep meditation. Nothing would matter to him then. Once the great doctor Mahendralal Sarkar visited Dakshineshwar and checked Thakur who was deeply lost in meditation. Dr Sarkar failed to get his pulse; his stethoscope failed to detect even minimal heart beat. He then dug his finger into partially opened eye of Thakur but he did not respond. Thakur was lost within nothingness; that he was in bliss oblivious with his surroundings. He was in trance radiating that glow which the people around felt.. Such was Ramakrishna Paramhans-the eternal Thakur who would speak with goddess Kali and would often lost in that nothingness. A humble obeisance to this great sage of india.
